The head as well as the painted designs around the bowl have been restored and are not original. Only the painted design on the feet of the vessel is original. Slight wear pattern is present on the base of the feet as well as the interior of the bowl. We think censers were used for the burnin...

This vessel is white. It is a deep miniature bowl whose rim has a heart shape. The shape is a product of modifying a bowl while the clay is plastic by pinching the rim. The band has wavy lines that slant upward from the left to the right. When viewed from above, there is a swirling effect of the design around the rim. The band has a motif, inter-locked flagged triangles, that repeat 4 times around the vessel. This vessel is brown with black patches (fireclouds). The exterior is corrugated having a texture surface similar to steps. The interior is smoothed and smudged black. Only slight traces of wear are present on the interior of the neck. It is likely that this vessel was used for the storage of liquids, since the orifice is large enough to admit a dipper. The little or no traces of wear on the base suggest that the vessel was never moved. Several s...

  17. 2206 - Pottery, Artifact

This vessel is brown without decoration. It's shape is that of an elongated form, tapering at one end and with an orifice at the other. The neck of the vessel is almost as wide as the maximum diameter. Some wear is present on the base, but not elsewhere. It is questionable whether this vessel was ever used. Several small chips are missing from the exterior rim, apparently unrelated to use. The vessel is intact, without restoration or reconstructi...

  18. 2207 - Pottery, Artifact

This vessel is dark brown on the exterior and smudged black on the interior. The exterior is corrugated, having the effect of steps. Appendages occur on either side of the rim in pairs. These were likely used to suspend the vessel. Slight traces of wear attest to the idea that the vessel was suspended. As such, the fundtion of the vessel would likely have been storage. No restoration or reconstruction is apparent through some cracks occur and fra...

  19. 2208 - Pottery, Artifact

This vessel is brown. The exterior has corrugations that have been partially obliterated. The effect is the texture of flattened stairs, adjacent levels at times combined. A small braided coil handle occurs attaching to the edge of the rim and about 3 CM below it. It is likely that the vessel was suspended by the handle considering the wear on the handle and the area of the base opposite it. Much wear is present across the exterior base. The rim ...
