Description |
This vessel is tan with red and black designs on the exterior. The design is a broad band from just below the rim to the major diameter. It consists of two identical panels. The panel is sub-divided into three adjacent triangles. Two of the triangles are filled with interlocking rectilinear lines elaborated with opposed triangular elaboration. The third triangle is filled with a stylized bird motif with eye, feather, and beak. Wear is present on the base and excessive pitting of the area of the exterior maximum diameter indicates that this vessel has moved around a great deal and has bumped with other harder objects. The interior base also is worn. Storage is a likely function for this vessel, but under conditions where the contents of this vessel was actively being used. Cracks are visible and indicate that the vessel has been reconstructed. No restoration is apparent. |
