This vessel is red on the exterior and black and white on the interior. The exterior is mottled with brown patches that are product of the firing of the vessel. On the interior is a quartered design where each quarter is exactly the same. A wide line with a line break occurs just below the rim interior. The design in each quarter consists of a paint filled square within a square within a triangle that is serrated and hatched. Some wear is present on the base, but none is apparent on the interior. About 1/2 the rim has been chipped and damaged. The pattern of rim damage is consistent with the use of this vessel as a scoop or dipper. Liquids could have been scooped or dipped, thus leaving no wear on the vessel's interior. There is no apparent restoration or reconstruction.
